Happy Birthday Staheli!

Staheli chose an airplane themed party this year. I haven't done birthday parties with friends before so it was new and fun for me. Invitations were printed to look like airline tickets. I used map scrapbook paper for an envelope. They turned out super cute. I had fun decorating the house with airplanes and white balloons bunched together to look like clouds. I realized that if you want to have good pictures at a party you have to hire a photographer. Nate and I were so busy with the games and everything that we didn't get pictures of everything we wanted.

Some friends displaying the candy airplanes we made.

Eating cake!

Opening presents from friends.

Nate had the kids play "Heavy, Heavy hang over thy poor head".
Anyone else know what that is?

Presents from mom and Dad. Staheli has wanted the electronic "Battleship" game forever.

Karinne can't wait until her birthday!
Fall!
Pumpkins, Leaves, Sugar Cookies

We had fun carving Jack o lanterns with some friends. It was kind of dark so Staheli's picture didn't come out as well.

Raking leaves in our backyard!

Karinne loved jumping into a big pile of leaves!

Cowboy(girl)s and Indian!
Washington's costume was my favorite to make. Super easy and cute too. I couldn't find a cowboy hat his size anywhere so I made one out of Poster board. It worked o.k. I guess.

I didn't make Karinne's costume and I think it made me think again about making costumes next year. I told them it was ghosts next year an old sheet with holes!

Staheli loved being an Indian. He took it so seriously too. He did have a headband that wouldn't stay on and a bow and arrow as well. They all had more than enough candy to eat!!! I have always thought Halloween was an odd holiday! Dress up in weird costumes.Knock on strangers' doors. Beg for candy! It is so fun!
My Dishwashers!

What good little helpers I have! Staheli and Washington were so cute washing the dishes together.

In September Karinne started ballet and tap. Every week she asks, "Is it Tuesday yet?". She absolutely loves it!

At the Beach!

Building Sandcastles

Karinne is my little fish. She loves the water!

Playing in the Sand!

Pioneer Day

I entered the pie contest with a homemade fresh peach pie. This was my first attempt at a lattice top crust. I had a lot of fun making them. I won second for tastiest and third for prettiest or vice versa. I can't remember.

The kids had so much fun playing the games.

Swimming Lessons

We had fun at swimming lessons this summer. We had lessons three days a week and swam at home besides. Staheli really improved from last year.

First Haircuts!

I came home one evening to find Nate sweeping hair up off the kitchen floor and my baby with a big boy haircut. He had to do it while I was gone because he knew I might not have let him otherwise. I admit he did a pretty good job. (My 5 year old was the one taking the pictures.)

Happy Birthday Karinne!

I am brand new to "blogging" so I didn't know really where to begin. Karinnes birthday was last month but I thought a good place to start. Karinne loves, loves, looooves Dora the Explorer. This is my attempt at decorating her birthday cake. It didn't turn out quite like I had envisioned. The green polka dots look more like peas stuck on top. But I guess I'll have plenty of chances to improve. Happy Birthday baby girl! We love you!

Make a Wish!
